My Concession Speech

As an outspoken critic of Barack Obama and his campaign, I am obviously very upset about his victory last night. The Obama campaign was intent on concealing the truth about Barack Obama and portraying him as a moderate. His campaign promised generic change; change that America will soon see was exaggerated and that many of Obama’s promises are unattainable. New voters turned out in large numbers, but unfortunately, many of those voters were uninformed and voted with feelings for their own selfish interests. Obama’s victory was, however, was the result of a hatred for George W. Bush and a less than motivating republican candidate. The next few years will see some drastic turns in the wrong direction for America, but it is the will of the people. America has made her decision, however mislead they may have been, and America will reap the consequences of that decision.

Barack Obama did accomplish something great for black Americans and for that, I can offer my congratulations to black people. For all the hard working, respectable black Americans that have suffered at the hands of ignorant racists, today is for you. Today is the day that my country, the United States of America, has once and for all proven that widespread racism is dead.

The color of a man’s skin does still matter in this country, however. To truly see our country turn the corner away from racism, we need to dismantle the systematic prejudice that is currently being used in this country in an attempt to balance the racial divide. Today should mark the end of all race based quotas and affirmative action! These initiatives are morally wrong and will continue to encourage hatred. Barack Obama did not receive extra electoral votes last night simply because he was black. Why then should students receive points because they are a minority or employers be required to hire certain numbers of minorities? It has now been proven that black people are perfectly capable of doing whatever they want and that obstacles should not be viewed as insurmountable. It’s time for minorities to look beyond race and look inward for the reason for any failures they may face.

I also want to take this opportunity to call out all the intolerant democrats that have been spewing hate for the past 8 years. Your distain and disrespect for President George W. Bush has been disgraceful and you should be ashamed of yourselves. Even yesterday emails were circulating that discussed how liberals would leave the country if Obama lost. For liberals that have spent the past eight years being immature and slamming our President, you have created the great divide in this country! You have contributed to the negativity and mudslinging by your treatment of George Bush. Now that Obama has won, there is outcry for bipartisanship and to stop the hateful rhetoric; where was this courtesy when Republicans controlled the White House?

That is what will separate this Christian conservative from liberals across the country. I am proud of America regardless of who holds the office of the Presidency. I am proud of America, not because of my government or an elected official, but despite of them. America is a great nation today and America was a great nation yesterday before she elected Barack Obama. I’m proud of this country, our heritage and what people are allowed to accomplish. Ultimately, character matters and conservatives have more character than liberals. Legitimate conservatives will refrain from stooping to the same level as liberals and massacring Obama as was done to George Bush and Sarah Palin. This is our chance to demonstrate how we truly are more tolerant than liberals by being respectful towards a man we do not agree with and do not have respect for.

Twelve hours removed from Barack Obama’s speech, conservatives have already demonstrated that they are the bigger person. Police units across America were ready for widespread violence if Obama lost the election. They expected riots and violence in major cities. Where was all the violence? This is the difference between conservatives and liberals; conservatives are better than that! Had Obama lost, America would have been turned upside down last night and liberals would have threatened to abandon their “racist” country and taken their toys and gone home to pout. Conservatives are different. Even George Bush, who has suffered at the hands of hurtful liberal attacks, has promised to do all he can do make for a smooth transition for Obama into the White House.

America has taken a drastic step in a direction I do not agree with. Not because of race or political party, but because of ideas. The ideas brought forth by Barack Obama and the democrats are why I oppose them. And oppose them I will continue to do. I will continue to oppose and challenge ideas that threaten America and our Republic by offering up solutions and participating in debate among differing parties.
